How To Bet Parlays
When it comes to making sports betting wagers, fans often find themselves deciding between two types, straight and exotic wagers. Straight wagers require that the MLB betting fan take only one team in a single game to win the game, cover the spread or accumulate a lot of runs for the totals. Conversely, exotic wagers allow bettors to take two or more teams in a few different games, and combine them into one bet. Here is a guide on how to bet parlays.
Parlays are one of the most exciting wagers in all of sports. As we just noted, your goal with a parlay bet, is to pick as many teams in as many games as you want, and hope that each of your picks wins. If all of your picks win, you can make a ton of money on a single bet. However, if only one of your teams loses but the rest win, your wager is still considered a loss.
There are two types of parlays, those bet against the point spread and those against the money line. The main difference between point spread and money line parlay payouts is that the payoffs are fixed in the point spread but money line odds are determined by each team in the actual parlay.
For example, in a two team point spread parlay, the odds are 13 to five. On the other hand, in a money line parlay, a two team parlay is dependent on a number of things. Here is a scenario involving a money line parlay.
A bettor likes the Toronto Blue Jays +160 and New York Yankees – 130. If the bettor risks $10 on the parlay, they will risk $10 on the Blue Jays which will turn into $260 if they win the game. The $260 then is placed on the New York Yankees at – 130. If the Yankees win, the bet turns into $460.
